So long, Blogspot. Hello, Wordpress!

I've been wanting to move my blog away from Blogspot for a while but could never be bothered to actually do it. This week was the tipping point though, and I've now fully migrated over to  https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . The blogspot address will remain here but all new posts will only appear at  https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ .  There are lots of reasons for the move but my biggest one is how hard Blogger has made it for people to subscribe to receive new posts via email. It's such a basic requirement but apparently, they think it's too much to offer.  I'm basing this purely on how I myself prefer to consume this stuff. I can't be arsed with feed readers anymore and emails are easy and convenient. When I receive one, if I fancy reading it, I will click through to it and, if not, I'll just delete it. Another reason is the spat between Google (owners of Blogger) and Instagram/Facebook/Meta. I don't even know if this is still the case anymore ...

{sewing} Moneta the II

Today I'm going to show off my second  Moneta dress by Colette Patterns! I personally love it. It looks great and it feels like I'm wearing pyjamas while being socially acceptable to wear it outside the house! Hoje eu vou exibir meu segundo vestido  Moneta  da Colette Patterns! Eu adoro esse vestido. Ele é uma graça e tão confortável quanto pijamas, mas sem os olhares tortos que usar pijama na rua instigaria.

{sewing} New Look 6808 fail

Right, so... New Look 6808 . When I finished it, about 4 months ago, I loved it! Really, really loved it. I hadn't done a lot of sewing in general and I was very happy with it. A few months down the line, quite a bit of experience gained and I'm not quite so pleased with it anymore... Então ... New Look 6808 . Quando terminei esse projeto, uns 4 meses atrás, eu adorei! Muito! Ainda não tinha feito muita costura em geral e fiquei bem feliz com esse top. Alguns meses se passaram, mais experiência foi adquirida e não estou mais satisfeita com o resultado ... I chose version E, which has a boat neck with a sailor style collar detail, it's sleeveless and it has a zip on the side to help with pulling it on and off - but I've since decided it can probably manage without it. As you can probably see, this was my first time finishing an armhole with bias tape and I screwed it up because it wasn't meant to be on show. Having said that, I do quite like it, actually. {sewing} I made a dress deemed good enough to wear for a wedding!!!

Yes, I did! I only decided that I'd like to make a dress to wear for the wedding about a month before... I know, very silly. But I did it! And it worked! And I love it! Just look at it! Is this enough exclamation marks? Pois é, resolvi que queria fazer meu próprio vestido só um mês antes do casamento... Eu sei, muito ingênua. Mas eu fiz! E deu certo! E adorei o resultado! E olha como ficou lindo! Será que já deu nas exclamações?

{sewing} Chardon Skirt

The next project I'd like to share is the gorgeous Chardon skirt by Deer and Doe. I can't overstate how pleased I am with it! It's a high waisted skirt with inverted box pleats all the way around. The contrast band is an option, as well as a bow on the back, which I chose to omit. O próximo projeto que quero compartilhar é a saia Chardon da Deer and Doe. Estou apaixonada por essa saia. Ela tem cintura alta com pregas invertidas (?) na frente e atrás. A faixa em contraste é uma opção, assim como um laço na parte de trás, que decidi omitir. Deer and Doe Chardon

{sewing} Miette Skirt

Over the last several months I've been on a massive sewing kick, showing no signs of stopping any time soon. Having made a crap tonne of things, I decided I'd revisit the idea of blogging so I can have a record of what I made, how, when and so I can see myself improve. Ao longo dos últimos meses ando costurando muito e por enquanto nem sinal de parar. Tenho feito uma tonelada de projetos e decidi tentar o blog novamente para que eu possa ter um registro do que eu fiz, como, quando e para que eu possa me ver melhorar. The first item I'm going to share is a Tilly and the Buttons'  Miette skirt . Tilly's book  was what encouraged me to try sewing clothes for myself. The Miette skirt isn't on the book but after having tried 3 patterns from it and loving them all, I knew I'd love this if I bought it.
