I've been wanting to move my blog away from Blogspot for a while but could never be bothered to actually do it. This week was the tipping point though, and I've now fully migrated over to https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . The blogspot address will remain here but all new posts will only appear at https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . There are lots of reasons for the move but my biggest one is how hard Blogger has made it for people to subscribe to receive new posts via email. It's such a basic requirement but apparently, they think it's too much to offer. I'm basing this purely on how I myself prefer to consume this stuff. I can't be arsed with feed readers anymore and emails are easy and convenient. When I receive one, if I fancy reading it, I will click through to it and, if not, I'll just delete it. Another reason is the spat between Google (owners of Blogger) and Instagram/Facebook/Meta. I don't even know if this is still the case anymore ...
Happy New Year! I hope you've had a nice festive break and took some time to recharge your batteries and get ready for 2020. I should have published this blog post a while ago but I haven't been anywhere near my laptop until tonight. Better late than never, I suppose. I've already shared this on Instagram but I thought I should do it here as well for anyone who may have missed it.
I'm going to be using #SewingBingo2020 throughout the year for some of my projects. I've tried #Make9 and it's a disaster for me. I don't like to plan things too far in advance, new patterns come along to mess with my brain and, worst of all, as soon as I have to do something, I immediately don't want to. I don't like to be told what to do, even by me.
I'm calling it a bingo but, with only 9 squares, I'm aiming for the full card. I also don't want to mark off more than one square per project so it's a bit more of a challenge. It's just a casual thing, no contest, no competition, just for fun.
Lots of people have already joined in and it was received with great enthusiasm over on Instagram. I am still a little shocked by how many people thought it was a good idea. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think this up but I'm still very grateful that so many people seem to be playing along with me.
If you feel like playing as well, just use the hashtag throughout this year and I'll see what you've made for it.
