I've been wanting to move my blog away from Blogspot for a while but could never be bothered to actually do it. This week was the tipping point though, and I've now fully migrated over to https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . The blogspot address will remain here but all new posts will only appear at https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . There are lots of reasons for the move but my biggest one is how hard Blogger has made it for people to subscribe to receive new posts via email. It's such a basic requirement but apparently, they think it's too much to offer. I'm basing this purely on how I myself prefer to consume this stuff. I can't be arsed with feed readers anymore and emails are easy and convenient. When I receive one, if I fancy reading it, I will click through to it and, if not, I'll just delete it. Another reason is the spat between Google (owners of Blogger) and Instagram/Facebook/Meta. I don't even know if this is still the case anymore ...
Yes, I know this is now my third Sew Over It Pussy Bow Blouse this year. What can I say? I love the pattern. If I were a nice person, I'd apologise. But I am not a nice person, this is my blog and I make the rules, so... However, this post will be short and sweet. I promise.
I have to be honest and admit that I wasn't actually going to write a blog post for this version. Everything else is still the same as the original, except for the neckline - this time I made the v-neck option. If you missed that original post, you can find it here.
"So why are you wasting everybody's time like this?", I hear you ask. Well... I have two reasons. One: I got a new camera which only arrived on Monday. Since we've been having a new boiler fitted and I haven't been able to sew, this is the only thing I had to hand. And when you get a new toy like that, the law says you have to play with it immediately, right?
Ok, maybe there is no such law...
Listen, just be thankful that I am not bombarding you with the same picture of my orchids instead. Alright? Good, I'm glad we understand each other.
The second reason is: would you just look at this fabric?! It's too pretty not to take eleventy billion pictures of it. So there!
I got it from Laura at Cotton Reel Studio but unfortunately, she has now sold out of it. However, completely by chance, I stumbled upon an Instagram story by Escape & Create and they have this fabric in stock.
It was a little tricky to sew with as it's so fine and I do have a couple of puckers on the neckline. But I was not about to unpick such fine viscose to fix a very minor issue that even I have to look pretty hard to find.
I made this blouse for a meal out with my girlies tonight and I am totally in love with it! The weather is amazing today and I have all kinds of warm and fuzzy spring feelings spilling out of me.
Have a great weekend, everyone, and I'll be back soon.
