I've been wanting to move my blog away from Blogspot for a while but could never be bothered to actually do it. This week was the tipping point though, and I've now fully migrated over to https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . The blogspot address will remain here but all new posts will only appear at https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . There are lots of reasons for the move but my biggest one is how hard Blogger has made it for people to subscribe to receive new posts via email. It's such a basic requirement but apparently, they think it's too much to offer. I'm basing this purely on how I myself prefer to consume this stuff. I can't be arsed with feed readers anymore and emails are easy and convenient. When I receive one, if I fancy reading it, I will click through to it and, if not, I'll just delete it. Another reason is the spat between Google (owners of Blogger) and Instagram/Facebook/Meta. I don't even know if this is still the case anymore

Essa receita é ótima para iniciantes em todas as técnicas: primeiro projeto, primeiro projeto circular, primeiro projeto tipo renda, primeiro projeto gorro, você entende... É uma receita GRÁTIS da Natalie Larson e as instruções são muito bem explicadas. Há duas versões: uma mais "larga" do que a outra. Quando digo largo, estou me referindo ao volume da parte solta do gorro. Minhas duas versões são a opção mais larga.
There is no chart though and for a chart lover like me this could be a drawback. Having said that the pattern becomes so intuitive that the lack of a chart isn't really an issue in the end. It's a very simple but effective leaf lace pattern and I bet I'll make more of them. I made this in 2 days. No alterations were made for her head size either.
A receita não oferece gráfico e para uma fã de gráficos como eu isso pode ser uma desvantagem. Se bem que o ponto fantasia acaba se tornando tão intuitivo que o gráfico acaba sendo desnecessário. Com certeza farei outros. Esse eu fiz em 2 dias. Também não fiz alteração alguma para o tamanho da cabeça dela.
The yarn I used was Malabrigo Worsted in the colourway Kaleidos. I love, love, love Malabrigo but I am torn on this particular one. It's incredibly soft, very warm and the colours are second to none - as always. But because it is so loosely plied it pills like a bugger if you're not careful. If you're making a hat out of it or a shawl or something that won't suffer a lot of friction, it'll be fine. But I've made fingerless gloves out of it and within 2 months they looked like they were 15 years old!
O fio que usei foi o Malabrigo Worsted na cor Kaleidos. Eu amo Malabrigo mas nesse fio eu fico em dúvida. Ele é muito macio, bem quentinho e as cores são maravilhosas - como sempre. Mas como ele é fiado sem ser muito torcido ele acaba dando aquelas bolinhas muito facilmente. Por exemplo, num gorro ou xale, sem problema. Mas se você usá-lo para uma luva, já era. A que eu fiz pra mim, depois de dois meses já estava com cara de ter uns 15 anos de uso!
It's still a great yarn and I will definitely use it again for hats. But I don't think I'd risk gloves or something else that might see a lot of action throughout its garment life. Still, the knitter and the recipient are both happy with the end result and that is all that matters, isn't it?
Ainda assim é um super fio e eu com certeza tricotarei com ele novamente num futuro próximo. Mas não arriscaria luvas ou outro item que sofra muito fricção. Apesar disso, a tricoteira e a recipiente do gorro estão felizes com o produto final e é isso o que importa, não é mesmo?
