So long, Blogspot. Hello, Wordpress!

I've been wanting to move my blog away from Blogspot for a while but could never be bothered to actually do it. This week was the tipping point though, and I've now fully migrated over to  https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ . The blogspot address will remain here but all new posts will only appear at  https://patsypoomakes.wordpress.com/ .  There are lots of reasons for the move but my biggest one is how hard Blogger has made it for people to subscribe to receive new posts via email. It's such a basic requirement but apparently, they think it's too much to offer.  I'm basing this purely on how I myself prefer to consume this stuff. I can't be arsed with feed readers anymore and emails are easy and convenient. When I receive one, if I fancy reading it, I will click through to it and, if not, I'll just delete it. Another reason is the spat between Google (owners of Blogger) and Instagram/Facebook/Meta. I don't even know if this is still the case anymore

{knitting} WIP Wednesday - Lauriel cardigan

Although I do have some finished items to share, I decided to talk about a work in progress I've got going at the moment. It'll be short and sweet but I wanted to do it because I'm very excited about it.

{sewing} Colette Zinnia skirt

Yes, it looks like I'm on a roll at the moment. I've been super productive these last few weeks and I'm loving it! The only problem is that I've been churning out so many new things that I can't keep up with the blogging. Gaaahhh! I guess you win some and you lose some, right? Anyway, today I've got the  Zinnia skirt  by Colette Patterns. I have had my eye on this skirt since I started getting into sewing, a couple of years ago. I've always thought it looked beautiful and wanted to make one for myself. Fast forward to a couple of months ago: Zinnia was Colette's pattern of the month, which means it was on sale, and I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. Boy, am I glad I did!

{sewing} The Susie Blouse by Sew Over It

Oh, I've let the posts lapse again... I know, I'm rubbish. But, to be fair, I don't get anywhere near as much sewing time as I'd like. So when I get some free time I'd rather be sewing, not typing up a blog post. Yes, I've said it. I'm not even sorry. ;) Anyway, today I'm showing off my  Sew Over It Susie Blouse .

{sewing} Two Sewaholic Crescent Skirts

Today I give not one, but *two* finished items in not one but *two* different locations! Ooooo... I know, I can barely contain the excitement, too! So, the first one is the last stop on my "sewing tour of Italy" [insert sad face here] and for that, we're in Amalfi , one of the bookends of the Amalfi Drive . The other being  Sorrento , which I fell in love with while we were there. This is my second version of the  Crescent Skirt  by Canadian company  Sewaholic Patterns . It's a brilliant pattern. The instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow. The construction is different from any skirt I've done before. Really enjoyable. I love all the details: the pieced together yoke, the slashed pockets, the topstitching. I went a bit fancy with my pockets topstitching in this version, look!  The fabric I used was some medium weight cotton I've had for ages, left over from a bag I made a couple of years ago. The colour is great and very summer

{sewing} Colette Moneta - yet again!

Hello again! Today we're at the  Colosseum  and sporting a  Colette Patterns Moneta dress . If I haven't made it clear before, I bloody love this pattern! This is my THIRD, yes, third version of it and I'm absolutely thrilled with how this one turned out. Although, there's a MASSIVE fail on the back which I'll explain soon.
